WARNiNG ABOUT WARENTEE WORK

Featured Replies

Not sure if you are all aware of this.. My recent case with skoda uk can really open consumer eyes

While the car was in warentee I reported an issue.. and on multiple times they couldnt fix it..

I have spoken to Skoda uk afew times

Todays last talk revealed that Manufactures can get away with fobbing customer off, and when it comes to out of warentee stage (fault still remaining) they will CHARGE YOU for parts etc to get faults sorted..

How FUBAR is that?

If you had a fault with a new car then you are within your rights to reject the vehicle or allow them to attempt a repair under warranty.

If they then fail to repair the vehicle you still have the right to reject the vehicle.

If you carry on allowing them to try to repair under warranty you are eroding your rights every time.

Did you bother to get any legal advice over your problem?

There is plenty of Advice sites on the 'net, did you try them?

As stated above,. the car generated the fault while under warentee.. Skoda tech (2 different dealers) failed to fix the issue.(as they couldnt find a fault) I had a VW tech (ex skoda) look at the issue and with in 20mins he told me what was wrong @ this point car is out of warentee... (i had had 7days off *roughly) to take the car to be looked at by skoda.. and each time fobbed off..

Last time the car visited the dealer when was in warentee and skoda looked at it. in 10mins they said if I wanted them to carry on with the car, they would charge me ..

Yes i can go to the garage who I purchased the car from and claim under sales of goods act as advised by a legal rep.. But as far as Skoda go... they can get away with it.

So as far as Warentee goes.. Car Manufactures can get away with delaying the issue and getting away with it..

Sorry, but was this a new or second hand car? You are not giving enough details.

You were covered by the S o G Act; you should have used it.

Im not really requesting any help..

Im just making sure people are aware of what manufactures can get away with

But more info :)

car was purchased 2nd hand..

Im aware of S.O.G

All the running around and then SKODA will not fix the issue..

They didn't fix the issue after multiple attempts while under warentee (days off unpaid work.. petrol .. paying another garage to diagnose an issue they should have) and i dont see a penny back

I will have to now go to Evans Halshaw to used the S.O.G on them..

Key point emboldened; a second-hand warranty is not the same as a new car warranty, and they may have fulfilled the terms of said warranty, particularly since you've given me the impression this was an intermittent fault.

Ken is right, this has got nothing to do with SUK.

Your problem is with the selling dealer only.

I suggest you have a chat with the CAB about the SoG Act, but you may be too late.

The issue is intermittant..you quiet right

Not to late for the SOG to take place.. Its 6 years..

Manufacture warentee still stands who ever owns the car in the 3years from new.. how can it differ from 1st owner to 2nd? They sorted other bits out under warentee.. why should this be any different? If they diagnosed the issue correctly and did the needed checks (as an ex skoda tech *now vw did) they would have been replaced under warentee.. and I would be a happy skoda driver. As this issue would not have dragged out so long.. so long now its out of warentee

Surely. warentee is their to sort out faulty items which are not wear and tear? and full filling would suggest rectifying faults when they occur?
