I've the same turbo as you, mine was done by unit 18 just after yours. I've no idea on actual boost or BHP, think its around 1.9 bar and just over 200BHP, which doesn't make sense considering the figures quoted by other posters.

What other mods do you have?

PD 160 box with green filter, full miltek, jabba clutch & fly wheel. Mas/maf are standard, don't think they are holding it back, I've experienced lack of air caused by faulty mas and its not how mine feels like.

Not a fan of pushing past 220 bhp with standard injectors as you'd be having a very long injection period surely? Can't see that being good for the engine long term and to make the most of it wouldn't you need work on the crank and/or cams to make the most of that long injection cycle?

Yeah past 220bhp will cook the pistons on standard injectors as the cycle is too long

Bobby singh over on uk mkiv's experienced that problem

He didnt have superior vrs injectors tho ;) lol

At 267 bhp on my golf they put a dibilas cam in, all other engine components were standard, also had 40% flow injectors and a bigger hybrid vnt20 turbo and aquamist injection

Do you know what degree the standard cam and what degree your custom cam is?

I don't doubt that uprated injectors are of some benefit, though I personally don't know a great deal on the subject.

That said, a number of people are running way over 230bhp (although not quite a million :dull: ) on standard injectors.

Perhaps driving style comes into it, so if you constantly cain it uprated injectors woud be advisable.

Not so sure believe it advanced timing....

Couldnt really say

Speak to Ali and ask why you can't have 220bhp... I think they learnt a lot doing mine so may be able to improve yours now?

Just because you can doesn't always mean you should. Other day I saw somebody ran 200bhp out of a standard kkk not my idea of fun for my 30k a year

I ran 220bhp before the meth and map tweak.

It seems the ball park figure to aim for

I totally agree with that idea; which is why my car isn't running the top end of bhp it COULD do. Once the standard turbo blew, I wanted to ensure what I got back was reliable and usable power. Consequently my hybrid PD150 is running about 20-30bhp below its full potential.

It doesn't stop me wanting another less sensible map, but then I remember the white plumes of smoke when the original blew and don't want to ever risk that happening again.

Anyway, back to your point, I was just highlighting that it can be done on standard ones. Whether or not it is a good idea is questionable.

I shouldn't post in meetings as I don't put my full attention onto my post. What I meant was that I'm running the same turbo, mostly the same mods and about the same boost (in theory) and I'm meant to be making about 10% less power. I'm guessing this is down to my map being more conservative, but I'd have thought my boost would have been lower?

Same here, I do too many miles to push things to their tolerances.

Theres loads more parameters than boost requested... Boost pressure is only one....

Uprated injectors again?

Standard injectors have been proven to be capable of making more than 260bhp, yet it is mentioned time and time again :wonder: .

They have?

They have?

its only vrs ones....

the are like the STIG from top gear....

they are made from the most precious metals known to man, some say aliens made them... all we know is there vrs injectors

Unobtanium! lol.

But you are correct Bobby Singh over on uk mk iv's has built his from the ground up, so has aRd....

they seem to know a fair whack about tuning diesels... and if anyone was wanting some serious advice id head there way...

theres only 2 vrs's on here past stage 2 but they seem to have been done by tuning companies so there will be a fair bit of 'blah blah'....

bobby and ard have done them themselves so are the ones to ask!
