Considering 19" wheels

Featured Replies

For what it's worth, I believe 245/40 R 19 should fit a Scout as that's the A6 allroad alternative size to the 245/45 R 18s that I have fitted on my Scout. It would however defeat the "offroadability" which is why I took them off my allroad. I might try fitting them one day if I'm looking to use up the 19" tyres before the car goes back, but the offset at 42 would make it that bit more iffy compared to the Scout's 50 where the clearance is already "tight".

HI Jeeves

Do you have any pics from different angles of your scout. I am looking to purchase a set of wheels/tyre and wondered how 245/45/18 would look. I take it you did not use/need spacers?

I think the new CUPRA R wheels are stunning.

I'd love a set of those. They are 19' and I'm guessing would go straight onto an Octavia.

Not a fan of those wheels, and the Cupra needs lowering!

If you do a search under "Scout" + "Allroad tyres" you should find the picures I posted previously if I can't attach them here. No spacers required for the 18" Zeniths, and no insurance issues for me either. If using a trolley jack, you'll think they won't fit as car is in an abnormal stance. Rest assured they do - just.post-8144-0-55822100-1300820387_thumb.jpgpost-8144-0-76457000-1300820531_thumb.jpg

Thanks Jeeves

Agressive looking Goodyear tyres which ones, can you still buy them and are they for all year use?.

Car looks mean BTW.

Thanks - looks even better if I don't miss bits when I wash it. Maybe I've just discovered what "detailing" is. It's ensuring you've left those carefully placed "couldn't give a monkeys" dirty patches.

Tyres are Wrangler AT/R (not winters/CWTs)and they were great in the snow. Not noticably noisy, although that never bothers me; and I'm not entirely sure on the MPG effect since the bigger size now means speedo coincides exactly with GPS speed. MPG in DIS may be a bit lower, but each "mile" is a bit longer!

Still available although prices seem to have gone up to about £140/tyre now, but perhaps still cheaper than OE Scout fitments. Only H rated, but that won't bother me. They're about the only tyre you can find in a 45 profile that's better suited for e.g. forestry tracks than normal road-biased tyres. Most other 4x4 patterns e.g. Bridgestone Dualer H/P are 99% for road.

I do have these 20" Sport Technos, but unfortunately they won't fit, so I'll save them for an Amarok.
