elegance xenon sticking on .....

Featured Replies

Right then,I`m new to posting,so be patient if I waffle! I`ve had an `03 PD130 Elegance for 4 and a half years, now with 150K and still sweet.I have had the `water-in-the-footwells,parking-sensors-are-now-ornaments,dodgy-convenience-unit` issues,as well as a few others found on these pages, but never come across anyone who has heard of what my nearside xenon does when flicked from dipped to main beam. The main beam bulb comes on,the xenon

unit autmatically adjusts `up` as it should, but stays up when the MB is switched back to dipped(blinding oncoming drivers if they are facing me at a funny angle)The xenon unit stays up until I go over a bump at which point

it drops down to its assigned position. It adjusts to ride height OK,switches on OK,does everything else OK,but stick up!If the car is stationary, you can thump the front wing near the lamp and it will also drop down. Its as though something is sticking.I have an ELSA diagram of the xenon lamp, but this is not very illuminating.Oh dear, sorry about that. Its not even funny. Can anyone help? Even xenon `experts` I have spoken to stare at me in bewilderment,so, over to you chaps!

Hi and welcome aboard.
