Featured Replies

Well I've done it!! :o I now have a Yeti 110bhp CR SE in Muscovardo on order........expect delivery in September.......and I can't wait!!!

Sara.

Fantastic news Sara!!!!! You, the OH and the three dogs will be very happy indeed. And on top of that your Yeti will be a Virgo! hehehe

Congratulations and welcome to the back of a long queue

You do realise though, you have completely ruined the title of your topic? :giggle:

Hi Sara

We bought the 110 TDi Yeti for towing a Lunar Quasar 462 which is well within it's towing weight. Watch the 85% rule though on the Bailey as Skoda give a towing weight of 1500 kgs.

Also, I was advised not to get the Skoda tow bar or the Skoda electrics, too expensive - and that was advice from two different dealers.

I used an independent Witter supplier and got the removable tow bar, which when removed the hole is barely visible, and the 13 pin socket swings up out of sight too!

Not sure as a previous user mentioned that you will have room for 3 dogs and the caravan bits & pieces that we all pile in the back of the car!

If you go for the "deep boot" then remember you lose the spare wheel and are supplied with a "blow up and fill with foam" get you home kit.

Personally, with a caravan I'd rather have a proper (if slightly smaller) spare and lose the boot space.

Having said all that and waited 5 months (end July to 31st of December) I'm really pleased and so is HiD, OH or SWVWBO!!!

Ours is in Red with black rails and is a real head turner... people driving by really gawp, and the comments have been really positive...ranging from

what a looker, can I have a look inside to oooh it's big isn't it!!!!

Can I quickly correct what appears to be a very common misapprehension.

There is NO 85% rule!

This figure is a SUGGESTED limit from both the Caravan Club and the Camping & Caravan Club. Currently both Clubs are in discussion to raise it to 90%.

We were concerned about the towing weight. We have the new Bailey Olympus 464 which has a max loaded weight of 1320kg. There's just the two of us and the three dogs and we travel light, well below the max loaded weight, no BBq's, bikes, full awning etc, we should come out at 88-90% (In theory!) :p

Before ordering I took a tape measure and paid a visit to the Yeti SE in our local dealers showroom. I spent ages sliding the seats about, taking the seats out, playing around with the boot floor and generally worrying the sales people to death!! My conclusion was that the dogs will be able to travel in the manner to which they have become accustomed and we should have plenty of room for luggage. The sales people were very patient, I feel quite guilty that I didn't purchase the car from them but they were just too expensive. :o We've ordered the full size spare wheel, I don't think it would be safe to tow with a spacesaver.

Do you find that the Yeti pulls your Lunar well?

We've just sold our small estate car because it's not heavy enough to pull the Olympus safely, so now we have to go shopping for a cheap towcar to last us until September! Our friends think we're completely mad waiting 6 months for a car but I'm convinced it will be worth the wait.

Sara. :)

Congratulations. The wait will perhaps be long and excruciating, but it may be worth it. I got my Snowman last week after nearly six months of waiting and so far I am thrilled.

I post a few more links, maybe it will be helpful about making a decision...
