PD100 Remap

Featured Replies

I was wondering if any of you have had a PD100 and had it remaped.

What sort of BHP, Torque & MPG improvement could I expect?

My local tuning company Celtic Tuning claim they can achive 145bhp, would that be correct? As it seems a bit high.

they usually go to about 140bhp...

140-145bhp and 240-145lb/ft is the sort of ballpark a good map will get you. That's the figures mine made after a P-Torque map on both P-Torque's and Awesome GTI's rollers. Unfortunately I am now back to standard power after my ECU let go (not due to the map), but not for too much longer.

A mapped PD100 is a surprisingly nippy and fun wee car to drive

my mate had his ibiza tdi pd100 done at more bhp. he claimed 140-150bhp and the car felt nippy although as we found out when i got my vrs mine pulled away from his even on its standard map. so weather it was actually 140-150bhp i dont know? bearing in mind ive got the blt model which as we all know is the fastest of the fastest tdi's

Bear in mind the stock BLT is often reported to have 140-150bhp as standard, plus you'd have the shorter gearing of the six-speed 'box to improve acceleration (at least I think that's the way it works...)

Fun all the same :D

fun was having the vrs re-mapped and killing a brand new dual mass in 15k lol. the joys of your first diesel and feeling the shove of the torque at 1500rpm

Awesome

I have big plans for my current PD100, as the big pile of bits and boxes in my bedroom will testify... :giggle:

130bhp + 220-230lbs (sorry need to dig out the rolling road results to job my memory)

My car started off at 115bhp before the remap from the rolling road results. A few hours later we got 130bhp and increase of torque to 220-230lbs (Sorry as above, can't remember exactly how much)

The main thing that improved was driveability. The engine feels more muscular, meaning more power down low (so less need to change down a gear when speeds slow) and more power up top (so you can, if you want, hold onto gears for longer).

It doesn't turn the car into some pocket rocket, but it is more fun and relaxing to drive at the same time. You don't have to work the engine as hard to maintain speed, and it's nice to have the extra power at higher RPM too.

MPG wise, well prior to remap I was getting 45mpg on the motorway,

and nowadays I can get 'upto' 60mpg if I drive very gently. This could be a combination of the remap, and adjusting my driving style to suit.

MPG definatly improved from the remap anyway.

Oh another thing, I specifically asked for a remap that didn't chuck out loads of smoke!! When he was doing the remap on the rolling road, he was doing lots of different things to tweak the map.

You can get bit more power at the expense of soot, but for me I preferred not to be chucking out loadsa black crap and went for a map to suit

shameless plug -

trying to get a group buy together for Shark remap (they are a site sponsor)

many happy forum members with their maps and STS box as an option so you dont even need to go to them :)

if interested drop your name in HERE

can help with any info - have PD100 myself and looking forward to the map B)

Yeh sure, I'm awaiting the group buy for the shark remap + STS to finish, then I'll be sorted!

I've still not seen you around. Dont suppose you've seen me out and about?

You'll reconise the white carnation in the suit lapel (LOL) and a very bald head.

My PD100 runs 140bhp thanks to RS tuning - no smoke at all, & it's pretty nippy to drive, everytime I drive it and go for a spirited drive, It really does put a smile on my face, and from that day on I swore any car I ever bought that was worthy of a re-map I'd have done, without thinking twice, worth EVERY penny!

Ps dont go with Celtic Tuning, you'll regret it big style!
