Replacing Rear Shocks on my VRS

Featured Replies

Is this a fairly straight forward job? I think the rear top mounts are knocking a bit :(

Very easy, but jack up car using sills and NOT the rear axle cross beam (it bends). Also be careful if you lower the rear axle to remove the springs, not to stretch the flexible brake hoses. Use new nuts and bolts when rebuilding. Check rear bump stops on dampers, as these are often the cause of unwanted knocking noises.

Thanks. Do the shocks unbolt from the inside of the wheel arch. I'm used to VW's which unbolt from the inside of the car :)
