Coilpack wiring harness

Featured Replies

Hi folks.

Ive picked up an ECS wiring harness replacement, has anyone fitted one yet?

Is it better to splice it in to the existing one or replace the loom supplied as is?

Cheers.

I think it's better to replace the whole loom, but AFAIK, that measn wiring all the way back to the ECU.

A lot of people just splice it ibnto the existing one when it comes through the trunking.

I thought there was a connector plug down the side of the head.

the ECS one is just the std VAG part right??

Does it have a plug/socket that looks like it would plug into near to where i suggested

I know my friends Audi TT did.

AFAIK the connector plug on the loom is for the speedo sensor or summat.

Multipurpose loom.

It does appear that there is wiring going to ECU as this thread suggests

Or perhaps you do what this thread suggest and cut the wires far enough back that the insulation is good then solder/join to new loom.

I think for completeness Id want it all fitting.

Awesome said 1 hour to fit it, but not sure whether this is a splice or full loom.
