Porsche Twists

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Collected some 17'' Porsche Twists yesterday (cheers Mike  ) - 7j fronts and 8.5j rears (along with 20mm & 35mm pcd adapters) and am sending them to Lepsons for refurbing later in the week.

2 questions:

1) if I were to go for a colour change, what colour would you suggest???

2) Both fronts and rears are currently wearing 205/40 tyres, which gives a nice stretch on the rears B)

I was wondering whether it would be worth putting some 215 tyres on the rears to offer a little more protection (for the wife's occasional use :D ) - if so, what profile would I require? Or should i just man up, stick with the 205s and ban her from driving it?

Cheers for your input

you should fit them on then get someone to do a photoshop, its always so hard to tell without seeing them on, personally i think anthasite or a light grey would look good, or go for something different like, body colour or matt black or red or pink lol im sure the missus will love the last one haha

You know what I'm going to say mate.

BLACK!

BTW My name is down for Combe.

Tegs said she'd happily pay a tenner to get rid of me for the day

also just a word of advice stick them on an ride round with them for a week or so, as not everyone likes how cars feel on adapters, personally i had them on my old octy when i had a set of 5-112's on to 5-100 adpaters, only lasted a couple of weeks before i got fed up with the ride, they might be alright on the fab, but just before you fork out on a refurb

Ban the Mrs, Keep 205, Gun metal or my bronzey colour. Look forward to seeing them

So far, I'm tempted by standard silver, White and anthracite.

Don't think that I have the balls to go for anything bright, especially not with a blue car ;)

Ross - good call on banning the missus. Hope everything went well for you earlier...

Trevor - AmD sorted that shocking security risk that was discovered earlier about an hour after you left us. Just glad that it's sorted now.

glad its sorted too :giggle:

The Twists are going to be my summer / special occasion wheels and my 16' Spiders will be used day to day. My wheel purchasing days are now behind me, unless I find a set of these for sale....

Doubtful as they are rather rare, but a man can dream...

I think this car looks the absolute nuts! B)

If only I had a black vRS....

Silver or black, can't see anything else working. :(

I vote for silver tbh.

I think the stretch on the front and back should be the same :)

ive just had some TT wheels done in black for mine, my initial instinct was to go for anthracite but if you look how much black plastic the car has on it it (various bits of trim) i was worried about the clash with the dark grey and blacks. if ur mates with xa0sx then why not ask him nicely to let u try his anthracite spiders would give you some idea :) also i popped into skoda the other day and they have the new fab VRS in there in race blue with black wheels it looked really nice.......however porsche twists in black mmm is that going to hide the detail in the wheel too much? if i were you mate id be tempted to go custom and do race blue spokes/silver rims :) or silver.

ride was fine... just the same as any other 17's

i used fk ones too... just don't go crazy when tightening the wheels onto them... i used 90 NM of torque

cheers Tom, good points made.

I've seen pics of anthracite spiders on an SE, and wasn't too sure. However, this may have been due to the standard ride height on this particular car at the time.

I think that a standard silver is looking like my preferred option at the mo

My mate works at Lepsons. :p
