holding left foot on brake with some revs on while in Sport mode

Setting off in tip tronic and in 1st gear using paddles

I may get a lot of feedback on this but the vRS DSG is not a good car for standing starts really, there are two many things getting in the way of controlling the torque to the (FWD no LSD) axle. That said it is not slow and to be honest judging when the light is going to change or when the gap will appear in front of you at the roundabout you can make a lot of progress.

I wouldn't dream of using that launch control idea unless the manufacturer recommended it.

It is a feature so guess it is fine! They wouldn't put it on if it wasn't. It is only the same as putting a manual in 1st and revving to 2k and letting the clutch peddle out! I see pensioners revving to about 5k and riding the clutch when they are parking

You also have to have ESP off to use launch control.

TBH unless you are in a traffic light grand prix you don't really need it. I just leave mine in drive and boot it if i need to get away from the lights quick....I will usually over-ride with the paddles to go into 2nd though to stop it screaming in 1st.
