Hi my 2005 Octavia has development a sudden fault...

The rear windscreen Wiper Action has stopped half way thru a wipe

If i press the switch down i can hear the relay kick in and also water pour from the arm

but no action...

A quick scan gave me the following Code

00888 WIPER SWITCH FOR INTERMITTENT OPERATION (E22)

014 DEFECTIVE - INTERMITTENT.....

do i go for a new switch or motor .?

Can someone tell me how do i test the motor if possible ?

okay 4 wires that plug into motor ignition on switch on

Black Purple = +12.5v

green white = 0v

green red = 0v

brown = 0v

ignition on switch off

Black Purple = +12.5v

green white = +12.5v

green red = +12.5v

brown = 0v

Does anyone know what am i supposed to get here...

I had the same problem, with the wiper stationary in the centre of the rear windshield like it had run out of power or the friction of the wiper was too much. (Octy II 2008) Yes it is still under warranty but my quick fix was as follows.

Try at your own risk but worked for me.

1. Flip up the the cap (external) at the base where the wiper pivots. This will reveal the rear washer jets.

2. Pick off the little plastic washer spray nozil piece - put it somewhere safe.

3. You should now see a little nut with the water supply going thru the centre

4. Fill the area where the nut is with WD40 or similar.

5. Go into the house and watch 6 hours of television or read a book.

6. Replace the plastic spray nozil - press this in firmly - might be a little click.

7. Flip down the cap.

8. Done. Take out for a test drive.

Mine had same symptoms but I believe it had just seized a litle over the winter and just needed freeing up.
