Injectors weeping onto manifold

Featured Replies

was doing a routine poke about now that the weather has improved a bit, noticed that all 4injectors appear to be weeping where they sit in the manifold, some to a greater extent than others.

Have looked it up and noticed it on some of the other vag forums, just wondering if this is an easy fix on the mk1 vrs (if anyone has done it)? Only asking as I don't want to pull them out only to make it worse, in my usual hamfisted manner.

Cheers for any input

replace seals

not a monster problem to change,5 or 6 mm allen key is all the tools ou need

mine have a small amount of brown residue around them, it doesn't smell of fuel in the engine bay so I'm not very concerned. Was going to ask r-tech about it when my car goes up there in a couple of weeks.

Mine reeks, especially when blowing hot air into the cabin. Otherwise wouldn't be too concerned. Thought it was a burst breather at first, but pipes all seem to be ok.

Sounds fairly straightforward job, add it to my to do list, along with my phantom electrics which are deciding which doors and windows to open on a day by basis!
