help on a fabia vrs purchase

Featured Replies

hi, i am looking at purchasing a fabia vrs with a budget of around £5k.

what should i look for?

You mean common faults?

Check if the rear footwell carpets are wet. Common problem.

Cam belt/water pump is a big thing on these, must be done every 4 years or 60k miles... I bought mine with 58k miles and made him change it prior to buying (which cost him £350).

HPI it obviously... A general look over for wear and tear, defects, etc...

It's difficult to say without knowing your car knowledge level to be honest... What exactly do you want to know?

I paid £5k around 4 months ago for a 54 plate vRS on 58k miles, full service history, just serviced (over £400 total), etc...

I have basic car knowledge i am currently doing around 250 miles per week but will be doubling that soon so ideally something with low mileage.

obviously the less miles the better but i would plan to keep the car for 3ish years.

What do you class low milage as.

Off the top of my head (for 5k) you'd be looking at a VRS around 2005 with 60k-70k miles on the clock.

If you do find a lower milage one for that price it'll probably be a little older for the same price. Such as xa0sx found.

around 70k and less i would consider as low milage, just i will be doing alot of milage per year but i need it to last me 3 years.

I'm sure you'll have no problem finding something within your budget then, as 70k is a fair milage allowance.
