remove it and stick a resistor in there, problem solved mate. It's not required in this country.

i have been told it just brings on the cel light later on anyway a few people have had the same problem before thats why i was abit hesitant to do it

I get no cel and have a resistor fitted, just get a sai flow fault when I scan for codes.

So do you not get your engine managment light coming on? do you have to take it off at any point if you are modifying the car becuse thats what i am planning to do? also thanks for the link i looked at this and printed off the guide incase i need it which i think i will in future when i remove the pump

no light at all.

Okay well might give it a try then and take it off and follow the instructions i have seen, some people where saying they had the cel light come on down the line and the only way they could get ride of it is remapping the car so was abit unsure, how long have u had this done on your car now?

I had the CEL removed as part of my map - before I did the removal.

I've had it done for a few weeks, I did get a cel but then fitted the resistor.

Okay well i will give it a try then thanks for your help guys :)

I had the CEL removed as part of my map - before I did the removal.

I had the CEL removed via map after the removal to check how often my CEL came on. Approx every week after resetting the EML and driving the car daily.

In two days recently I've had two Golf's with a fault code generated for the secondary air blower, and both times a 40amp fuse had blown in the engine compartment fuse box. On both occasions I placed a direct feed and an earth to the motor to check to make sure it worked, and it did. I also did a current draw on the motor and both drew between 25 and 30 amps. With this in mind you will need to use some cable with sufficient current rating to test the motor. The motor is live switched, and its power supply is from a relay also under the bonnet.

Don't forget the blower only operates when the engine is cold. Its purpose is to blow air into the exhaust so that the catalyst can work more effectively when it's cold. As soon as the engine temperature is higher than cold the blower is switched off.

Hope it helps.
