Columbus,Bluetooth, Maxidot Problems

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Can any one tell me what the correct coding is for the bluetooth to intergrate with the maxidot. I have seen a few different ones on here, iv got 1Z0 035 729B my coding is 0000322, iv seen 00000422 and 0010422. I upgraded my firmware from 1004 to 2724 was successful but it wiped my codes from my radio and navagation unit. I cant get my phone to work in the maxidot which it did before, the phone is working on the columbus but i have lost all my 6 preset memory phonebook. I can ring from it and it does show my missed, dialed and recieved calls in columbus but not in maxidot. Stuvrs fitted it all about 3yrs ago and never had a problem with it until I upgraded the firmware. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

This coding I know to work on more than one vehicle with maxidot, columbus and bluetooth.

Check coding in 19 can gateway that 77 telephone is selected.

Then open 37 Navigation, enable byte 3 bit 1 to make sure microphone diagnostics are enabled.

Disable byte 7, bit 1 to make sure voice control is enabled and save.

Open telephone 77, and set code to 0010322. This has enabled phone to be seen in both maxidot and on the columbus.

Info originally obtained from my-gti.com

As said, I've used this coding on more than one vehicle, and all seems well.

Please post whether this works for you.

Mike

Thanks Mike I will have a go later and post it.

Tried all the above and it wont accept the soft coding 0010322 it says error 31. My phone is connected to the Columbus and you can ring and accept calls but no phone book available. It does appear on the maxidot as phone but when you click on it, it just freezes then disappears. Have you any more suggestions?

Hi Mike I have just found this on My-GTI.com

Warning! Users with the Skoda UHV bluetooth 1Z0 035 729 B (1Z0035729B) may want to delay upgrading the firmware, there is an issue with the RNS 510 no longer displaying the phone book and/or the call details but signal strength etc are visible for some phones. My HTC Diamond for example worked fine before the update but only partially afterwards however my Iphone 3G worked fine before and after. This is not a problem with the 1Z0 035 729 D (1Z0035729D) Skoda UHV bluetooth kit. The MFD functions as per normal with phone book and last calls listed correctly. Android 2.1 phones work fine with the update.

Have you come accross this with anybody else?

No, but having said that, the Columbus units I've worked with have all been already upgraded before the bluetooth was installed. Wondering if it may be work switching the 77 telephone controller off, recoding the 37 navigation, then re-enabling the 77 telephone? Worth a try.

Are you sure that your bluetooth is 1Z0 035 729 B? If you plug VCDS in, and open 77 telephone, the controller type will be displayed upper right of the opening screen.

My own 7P6 bluetooth is known not to integrate with pre FL maxidot, but the phone book displays no problem on the columbus. Can't give you a code off mine to compare, as the 7P6 unit now uses long coding rather than the 7 digit soft code, and is coded by a series of tick boxes.

Just checked again and it is defo that 1Z0 035 729B, its been installed for nearly 3yrs and was done at the same time as the Columbus and cruise control. Iv never had one problem with either the 6 preset channels or maxidot. Since the firmware upgrade it has changed. Some nice new features on there but no telephone book and freezing maxidot and my stalk control seems to freeze as well. Although I have never been able to get the profile views or been able to delete anyone out of my phonebook from the columbus. Could it be anything to do with an old canbus I wonder?

I can get the soft coding and long coding up on mine and go through all the byte and bit boxes?

I don't think so, you haven't altered any coding in the old gateway. As a matter of interest, what revision is your gateway? Open controller 19 and read the part number off screen. With updating the firmware, you will need a gateway later than revision K to avoid any battery drain issues. Sorry if I've gone off on a tangent from the original question here!

Be aware that once you upgrade the firmware, your columbus will be seen by the car and VCDS as a 3T0 unit, and not a 1Z0. Mines a 3T0, upggraded from a 1Z0, and I've never had stalk control of the columbus since the day it was fitted. However, as already said, I do have maxidot integration, and it works perfectly well with the later bluetooth, even though the phone is not shown as an option on the maxidot.

Another aspect to consider -- where did you obtain the 2724 firmware??? Just wondering because the version I got (from another member here on Briskoda) is specifially marked "with multifunction steering wheel and maxidot support".

I got it off the links posted on here by VRScarl and mannyo. I downloaded the pre modified one that stops the battery drain issue for the 06 cars which it must be as my battery has been fine. 1K0 907 530 F that is my can code, my unit has also changed from 1Z0 035 680 A to a 3T0 035 680 A since the upgrade.
