Everything appears to work ok except the intermittent front electric windows (all reset methods tried). Would it be possible to run a live feed to window switch and bypass the convenience unit as I don't relish £200 ish on something that seems iffy on many cars. I have a 2007 (original shape) Fabia Elegance 1.9tdi. Thanks for any advice please.

Not really as the control unit uses over current to detect a window obstruction (like a childs head) and stop the window if such an obstruction exists.

Thanks, just wondered as I don't fancy forking out £200 for a product which is obviously 'faulty' in design or manufacture. Just had fuses out again for 24 hours, when replaced, windows worked perfectly-------lasted 5 minutes. SO ANNOYED!!!!!

I have been offered a garage diagnostics for £35 on a BOSCH system. Do you think that it would show exactly what the fault is as some members say that the diagnostics on Vag.com didn't show a fault with cars with the same problem. Much obliged.

Data is stored in an EPROM IC. Most likely cause of problems, are bad wiring connections on connecting plugs or unit socket (dry joints), worn switches. Also check the large multi plug/socket on the door close A pillar.
