Sorry you are having such a frustrating wait - I know what it feels like, but - as many said to me - it's worth it!

I also experienced 'queue-jumping' while awaiting my SM, sometimes even with almost exactly the same spec - there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, although it would be interesting if a dealership (or, preferably SUK, drawing on all orders) were to analyse specifications against delivery times: for all we know, there MAY be a pattern.

Colour shouldn't matter one bit.

The fact that it is 4WD or 2WD shouldn't matter, as far as I knew the delay is with the engine rather than anything else.

I was thinking the same, i was going to try and work out a poll on here for all the different colours and specs against time to delivery but it'd be huge, lol

Hi James,

not totally convinced by the engine thing myself; yes there is a shortage but I'm geting more of the opinion that some orders loose there slot for one reason or another and then get thrown to the back of the queue as theres nowhere else to put them. For example Wakev ordered a SE 110 4x4 6 weeks after my Elegance version but currently has a provisional build two weeks prior to mine despite a two week slippage in that provisional build.

Therefore I can only surmise as stated above some orders do get dumped out or turn so to speak due to shortages at their original build slot.

Regards,

TP

Hi Tim

i was talking to my dealer about this the other day. Colin my salesman ordered a 1.2 fabia at the same time as another salesman at the dealership ordered one, both same spec. Colin's is on the ship heading this way the other one is showing build week 10.

god knows how they manage to get them so far apart and like your build week being after mine its not first come first served :wonder:

regards Kevin

Hi Kev,

spoke with customer services this afternoon, needless to say they had no real answer as to why my order got moved so far back (appreciate others are waiting even longer). The person I spoke to suggested that there is not even an issue with engines now, although there is still some backlog from when there was late last year. Therefore I might be part of the backlog :wonder:

They did suggest I should be entitled to a goodwill gesture for waiting so long but were none committal on what that might be other than possible a free service at the dealers :|

Regards,

TP
