1.2 TSI 86bhp

Featured Replies

Well, the wife's Fabia SE 1.2 (86) TSI is doing nicely with around 50 miles under her belt (the car, not the wife :giggle: ). I've not given it any full throttle as yet and only been up to about 3500 rpm, but it seems a nippy little thing and just want's to pull, so much so that I have to stop myself from pushing it too much B)

I dread to think what you guys (and gals) in your VRS' think... it must go like the proverbial poo off a shovel, especially with the DSG. I'm tempted to ask the dealer if I can try a VRS... just to see how much faster they really are.

Don't granny it too much...Once it is up to temp (or if you have oil temp then above 80C) give it some beans through the gears. This helps seal the piston rings resulting in less oil usage and more power. I have just put my first top up in mine after 12k miles and only had to put 0.5 litre in.

I drove a Fabia VRS the other week and it is awesome. I know i already have an Octy VRS but it is a diesel and quite a bit bigger. The power delivery was amazing in it and so quick with the 7speed DSG.

Well I've had a dealer demo vrs for the morning it is indeed pretty nippy. Works great with the DSG box and in a different league to the 1.2dsg. :-)

+1 drove my vRS as "normal" from new, 2400 miles now, and not a drop of oil used, I even got 50mpg today! lol.. must be running in

Hmm, might have to offer to do the shopping or something for the missus and have a sneaky blast ;)

I concur the vRS is a bit of an animal. Only test drove one for about 10 mins but it was enough to seal the deal for me.

I also drove the 86ps 1.2 that day and was mightely impressed, so much better than the old 80ps 1.4. Thought it was going to be a real disappointment after driving the vRS (wife wanted a 1.2 TSi 105 Elegance but I got my way in the end!) but not at all. Cracking little engine. Quite liked the little blue "warm up" light it had, goes out as soon as the engine is up to temperature. Guess the 105ps is that bit punchier still.

Wife decide she likes the polo, how does the 1.4 80ps engine compare to 105tsi in terms of refinement, useful power range and mpg.

i am in two minds, one is telling me save £2000 and buy 1.2 tsi dsg fabia the other is to buy a polo 1.4 se dsg,

i have only 2 days left before vat offer finishes, how polo can charge 15k for a tsi engine polo without dsg is beyond me

have a drive in a ibiza and cant belive how crap the interior was and the door handle feels like it was from poundland and will snap very soon. the dash was dreadful

I swapped from a new polo to the fabia i had a 1.4 se before with some extras for about 13500 it is a very nice car feels quite premium.

Then i bought a vrs fabia for 14200 with some extras.

You can see where they have saved money on the polo but it still feels premium and refined.

Go for the fabia you can feel smug at the amount you saved and have a pretty much identical car. Now i have a nicer faster car and its cost me bugger all really and my insurance is the same.

Which is the quieter car? the 1.4 or vrs

I hate this phrase but to me this is a "no-brainer" The TSI vs old 1.4 will be like chalk and cheese so if the Fabia is also £2k cheaper...

my head is telling me that aswell but the wife likes the polo with panoramic roof which looks like a black roof and the shape is cleaner

Have a black roof on the Polo, job done.
