Smoke, dirty boot, etc

Featured Replies

I've heard of people getting different exhausts that angle to the floor which helps against having a dirty boot. Is this true? Any photos of this?

I'm getting so bored of cleaning my car, I spent 7 hours cleaning it yesterday and 35 miles later the rear end is sooty and looks dirty already. :(

I made some tips at work, will get a pic for you

Theres a video on YouTube of a homemade backbox with a downwards tip. Seems too do a good job of chucking the soot away.

your turbo is not big enough to burn the unburnt fuel!!! lol :giggle:

only joking :)

you need water meth...

black smoke = high egt's (not good)

Lol talking about that, I ran out of methanol the other month.

The only substitute was some performance screen wash to stop the tank freezing up whilst I got some more.

It works a treat and also better for seeing the level in the tank

let me know if u change ur miltek :)

My Polo with a hidden exhaust is as bad. Petrol too, so no soot.

Really makes me wonder how people do without a rear wiper too.

aye but its got rubbish additives in it!

what i did was add 2 drop's of food colouring! simples

I reckon something like these would look OK if soot is an issue.
