Door wiring gaitor

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

I noticed the gaitor had come off both at both ends.

While I was able to get the door end back on, I cannot figure out how to do the body end. I realised you need to catch it over the back of the flange then stretch if over the front, but I just can't get it to fit properly.

Anyone able to explain how you do this?

I checked Haynes, it's explanation is with the door off attach to body, stick door on, attach to door. I really don't want to have to take to door off!

When I added wiring to my car,the gaitor unclipped off the car,and the door, and easily clipped back on again. I refitted the gaitor in one go,and did not have to remove the rubber from the plastic clips to refit them. The white plastic parts sprung into the holes . Perhaps if you try to fit the white plastic parts into the holes first to see how it clicks into place?.

Hmm, plastic clips? Don't recall seeing any plastic clips.

On both the door and thebody there is an oval whole that has a curled lip running round it. The gaitor has a shaped fat lip which catches round the curled lip.

Or have I misunderstood?

Tom
