STAGE 2 PLUS?

Featured Replies

Evening chaps, Would like some thoughts on the above topic. I am curently running a octy vrs 2.0tfsi on a 57 plate with 15k on the clock, my mods are as follows, Forge twin cooler a full miltek exhaust with sports cat a forge induction kit and a stage 2 revo, Ive just fitted a APR high pressure fuel pump the car runs perfect but will the stage 2+ be of any advantage if so what? and are there any disadvantages on having it done?. any thoughts would be great.Phil

No expert mate, but vRSCarl has a similar set up to yourself but has had issues with his Revo Stage 2+, I think he is back to running Stage 2 with an APR HPFP, and the Bullet lives up to its name, compared to my Stage 1 with EVOMS, it is a rocket (and mine is now slouch) and it runs sweet as a nut now.

Thanks for the info what issues was vrsCarl having? phil.

Hi Mate,

Stage 2+ on K03 is not worth it and it's a carp file (I'm talking REVO). I had it for about a year and could never get more than 260bhp and 285lb/ft (i got 257bhp & 300lb/ft at stage 2). As you can guess i was shocked at a loss of lb/ft.

I had Autotech Internals at first and i thought this was the issue. Knowing how good Stage 2+ should be (280ish and 320+lb/ft) over the course of a year i spent close to £2.5k chasing a problem that i was assured by REVO was a hardware and not a software issue.

In Dec last year i had some running issues which started off as faulty plugs. Plugs replaced (nothing else changed) i got dangerous timing pull levels (-11 sustained) across all 4 cylinders. So i left the car with JKM for a week.

Everything was checked, rechecked and checked again and the only thing replaced was i got an APR pump fitted. With the APR pump the car on Stage 2 made 270bhp & 290lb/ft and held it for a good chunk of the rev range. The car didn't leave the dyno and Stage 2+ was put back on and the power DROPPED to 256bhp and 255lb/ft.

My Mods power wise

S3 Intercooler

Full Milltek TBE

Neuspeed Turbo Outlet

Neuspeed Intercooler to Throttle body pipe

APR Pump

EVOMS

So as you can see it's not through lack of mods.

My advice would be to have a decent RR session and setup stage 2 Properly with your mods and you will get more benefit over Stage 2+

If you wan't more info or advice just PM me as i don't want to start a Tuner slating war on the net :)

id agree with carl on the revo side of it, something wasnt right there at all. however i had bluefin at stage 2 and 2+ and stage 2+ was a hug improvment. i then fitted shark performance stage 2+ after a software change and when i switched down to stage 2 there was a definite difference in midrange grunt.

If you have REVO stage 2, why not just increase the fueling for max power, as you wont need to worry about fuel cut. Carls is making soe impressive figures for a stage 2 car, purely as a result of his fueling and APR HPFP
