Radio Mute in Reverse Gear

Featured Replies

The radio mutes when reverse gear is engaged but is spasmodic in whether it turns off the mute when driving away. Quite often I have to turn the volume up manually to restore listening pleasure. Has anyone else encountered this this?

Mine is the oposite I have the Columbus set to low and tried off when reversing none of them work wether it's radio HDD or SD card playing , the time don't show up when unit is turned off either must be the firmware

There are settings on the columbus headunit to enable both the time display and the reverse mute. The time setting is under setup - display, if its not there then you dont have the latest firmware.

If the mute is not coming off when you delsect reverse, then you could have a faulty reverse light switch or another faulty switch so the car thinks you are always in reverse, which may eventually clear itself.

Hmmm, must check if the reverse lights are on or off the next time it happens. Thanks.

It's also worth noting that it's the level of sound "reduction" that is being selected, not the actual sound level. So selecting OFF will result in no reduction at all. I have mine set at the highest level and the sound from the Bolero goes off completely, but it comes back on again as soon as I move the selector out of reverse.

So where's the Reverse Mute option, I have the time one on my menu's but can't see the reverse one?
