Sunroof Update.

Featured Replies

Rather than update the other threads on the subject I thought it would be best to start a new one, incase I missed one of the other threads.

The panoramic sunroof option for both the Yeti and the Superb Estate are now available again.

Only on SE & Elegance models and is £1,050.

I have no idea how it will affect delivery dates/build but I would anticipate (like before) extended build times to get this rare option. I will find from Skoda what the delivery times will be for this option and update this thread when I know.

I thought it was best to get the information out in case anyone is waiting to order a Yeti with the sunroof. If you are one of those people, I'd love to get the opperunity to supply you the car so if you don't mind please fire me an email ([email protected]) and I'll happily give you a quote.

Did someone send an email to Robert Hazelwood?! heheeh Seems things always get resolved the day after he was included! hehehe (And no I did not send him anything!)

But GREAT news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys press the GO button now on your saved Yeti with Velux orders at the dealers!!!

Many thanks for the update James. Now I just need confirmation of a DAB radio option in the 2012MY cars. I guess if these are being made from the end of May, that your ordering system will get updated with the new options before that date. Say around the end of April?? (Although with the current waiting list, anyone ordering a car now with the present option list is likely to be getting a 2012MY car, so can they add the new options before their car's spec is frozen??)

Chris that is what I did. There was no DSG 140 diesel in April of last year when I ordered. I ordered anyway and at some point during my wait the DSG became available and a just updated my order to suit. So I'd get the car and roof order in Pronto and just add DAB at some point - up to a maximum of 4 weeks before the car gets built.

I would have thought we'll know about any changes for the new model year in May, probably somewhere in W20/W21 but not for certain. We might know sooner.

As Johann said if you're after a TDi Yeti with a sunroof it is going to take a while to come through anyway, you could order the model now and change the spec after MY12 starts.

Interestingly, the Skoda UK website now lists the sunroof as an option on its Yeti page http://www.skoda.co.uk/gbr/newcars/yeti/equipment/Pages/default.aspx. But it shows it twice, once at £870 (the old price??) and once at £1050! Can I have the cheap one please??

But as it also shows all Yetis having a "storage box on dash (open)" when I though SEs and Elegance models had a lid on it perhaps it just shows the Skoda UK website is no more accurate than their brochures?? Haven't they heard of the Trade Description Act yet, or do they have a get out until you sign the order form??

Good question, Chris. No doubt Skoda pay enormous sums to some design agency that produces the inaccurate UK brochure (and doesn't even have the wit to include photos of RHD, UK-spec vehicles). For a (very reasonable) one-off payment, I'd do an edit for them and put the detail right! It can't be that hard, surely? And whatever protests managers make, in the end it does show a level of contempt (ie 'take it or leave it') for the customer.

I've already done it AND sent it to SUK:

Did they bother chaning any of it? Of course not.

I wonder if the web design and brochure design have been outsourced to Ventura, along with their other Customer facing operations? If so, it's a perfect example of why important jobs like this should be left in the hands of Skoda people who know what they're talking about rather than getting it done on the cheap by outsiders.
