I fancy colour codeing the chrome part of my grille on my vrs, has anyone done this? Noticed a few fabias have had it done, is it a right pain in the ar@e getting it done? As i have been to a couple of body shops in my area and they werent really to keen on doing it.

So i have one more bodyshop in my area that i am going to try to see if they will do it, if not i was going to try it myself is it hard to do? I don't know if i would have the patience to do it thats the thing lol.

I have a red vrs and have recently had the bump strips colour coded so fancyed doing my grille aswell.

The secret is to soak the grill in bleach to get rid of the chrome otherwise the paint will come off, my grill which I've found out has just been painted and the paint is starting to come off. Apparently cheap Asda bleach is the best. I'm sure if you give a body shop the grille without the chrome on they will paint it without any problems

How long does it take for the chrome to come off? Is it a long process? I take it you soak it in pure bleach not a bleach and water mixture?

leave it over night,paint it black satin black,looks really good I have 2 red ones I have done both.You will not be disapointed

I don't think black would look right just my opinion mate, i think it looks better colour coded with the same colour as the car. Thanks for the advice though :-)

I will email ya a pic if you send me email addy My opiion is if you do it red it will be to much you need something to break it up,especially since you have colour coded the trim...It is worth a look mate I think.....

Yeah i do like the look of it on a car with the bump strips still black but mine are colour coded so i don't think it would look good. Don't know though ill see what this latest bodyshop say.

that pic is not bad, i just took my chrome off and stuck mesh on it and stuck the grill badge on looks a bit tatty but not bad
