Switch in driver's side door pillar

Featured Replies

Elegance spec Combi... there's a small push button switch in the door pillar, about level with the seat cushions, which appears to have a picture of some kind of "rays" inside the car interior. It seems to switch between illuminating in orange or red (as it now is), and says "OFF" (in either colour). Anyone able to tell me what it does, and what colour I WANT it to be?

;-P

bestest,

It turns off the interior monitoring of your vehicle's alarm. If you press it, before leaving the car and locking it, anything still inside (dogs, brats etc) won't set off alarm.

Or I am pretty sure if you lock the car twice with the remote key fob it has the same effect?

I think the two press of the fob superlocks it. (Deadlocking) That was always the case with my Nissan anyway.

Not on the Superb, all that does is disable is disable the deadlocks but leaves the alarm in place. To disable the interior sensor you must press the button on the door pillar until it glows amber.

Im pretty sure the Skodas deadlock by default, anyone know?

The central locking system is equipped with a safe securing7) system. Locking the

vehicle from the outside causes the door locks to be automatically blocked. It is not

possible to open the doors with the door handle either from the inside or from the

outside. This acts as an effective deterrent for attempts to break into your vehicle.

You can deactivate the safe securing system by locking twice within 2°seconds.

If the safe securing system is not operating, the warning light in the driver door

flashes for about 2 seconds fast, goes out and starts to flash slowly again after about

30°seconds.

The safe securing system is again activated the next time the vehicle is unlocked and

locked again.

The doors can be opened from the inside if the vehicle is locked and the safe

securing system is deactivated:

• The door is unlocked by actuating the door-opening lever.

• The door opens upon actuating the door-opening lever again.

This is indeed correct.
