Clipped kerb with rear nearside wheel

Featured Replies

I'm pretty annoyed myself as I managed to clip a kerb with the rear nearside (passenger) wheel while taking a tight left out of a supermarket carpark onto a roundabout in the snow and paying too much attention to the front of the car and not enough to the back. What's done is done so I'm wondering the best way to check what the damage is, I've had a look visually at the wheel but I can't see anything wrong (nor would I expect to though) and it 'feels' ok driving but then I wouldn't expect any different either with it being a back wheel. If it was a front wheel I'd have a better idea of what needs done but I'm not so sure with a back wheel, I'm guessing there's a chance it's been buckled and my alignment at the back could be out. Is it something a standard mechanic could check over or is it more specialist than that?

Thanks,

John

Get a 4 wheel alighnment check done m8 and ask them to check if the wheels buckled Havent been to inverness for years, but theres gt tyres in forres that i think does it.

I wouldn't worry, did the wheel ride up onto the kerb or did you drag the wheel around the edge of the kerb?

If you made it up and over the kerb it will have been the tyre bouncing up the kerb that will have absorbed most of the impact, the soft snow and suspension will have taken care of the rest.

If there is no visible damage to the steel/alloy wheel or bulges on the tyre sidewall my guess is all you've done is what most shopping cars see several times a week!
