Anyone know is the turning fog light option is a means to extract more money...A few threads here say its possible using VCDS to enable cornering fog lights...I'm ordering new VRS in two days and wondering if I don't select this options can i just enable it myself using VCDS??

They may well be activated from the factory but if not, yes, you can activate them yourself using VCDS.

Well on the Irish configurator cornering fogs is 387 euro extra...are you saying that they are charging 387 euro just to activate using vcds...if so I wont spec it and just do it myself...

In the UK brochure the only mention of cornering fogs is as an option on the SE for £225.

"Front fog lights - £195"

"Front fog lights with cornering function - £225"

Although not listed as an option on the vRS the cornering fog light function can definately be enabled using VCDS so its quite cheeky than Skoda Ireland want to charge €387 EUR for simply enabling a hidden feature on a car that already has the fog lights fitted as standard!

I've just received a new vrs and the dealer activated the fogs for nothing. Oh and I live in the emerald isle in the county of Cork!!

So... I've asked my dealer a couple of times, and they seem to draw a blank... does anyone know what a *dealer* needs to do to enable these, rather than the VCDS settings?

Next time it goes in, I'm tempted to contact SUK first and ask for instructions, but they'll probably tell me some **** and bull about factory fit options (or €00s upgrades if I just take the ferry to Dun Laoghaire, it seems ).

Here we don't have the option of "Cornering Fog Lights" rather we can specify a pack containing:

Auto DImming Rear View Mirror

Rain Sensor

Light Assistant (Coming Home, Leaving Home, Tunnel, Daylight)

Cornering Fogs

Is it possible that you are buying the whole "light assist kit" rather than just getting the cornering fogs activated for your money?

My understanding is that the ones you pay for are active/adaptive? fogs

Normal fogs activated via VCDs just light up on left or right turning under a certain speed.

I got mine done by dealer as well with normal fogs,

The dealer will assume you want mechanical cornering fogs - you can however just enable them via VCDS - its something they should know how to enable. The VCDS option is not mechanical but still work in the same fashion.

in oz, the cornering enabled foggies r an extra $240!!

with bending/dynamic/cornering xenons, i knew i'd never have the need of cornering foggies, so i didn't option that spec.
