HI PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP I HAD A TIMING BELT KIT FITTED TO MY 2001 OCTAVIA 1.4 16V THEN THE TROUBLE STARTED THE NEXT DAY THE CAR WAS NOT RUNNING RIGHT THE GARAGE TOLD ME IT WAS A TEMP SENSOR SO GOT NEW ONE FITTED ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON NEXT DAY THEY NOW TOLD ME IT WAS SHOWING LAMDA SENSOR THEY FITTED NEW ONE NEXT DAY LIGHT CAME BACK ON THEY SAID IT WAS NOW CAM SENSOR AND THEY FITTED NEW ONE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON AND THEY SAID IT IS STILL SHOWING CAM SENSOR FAULT CAN ANYBODY HELP PLEASE THIS HAS COST A FORTUNE

was it running fine before it went in, then id suspect they have not timed it up correctly, especially with a cam sensor fault, take it back and tell them to fix it,

"spot on" the right spec or spot on the wrong spec? Ask them what references they used.

I've heard of garages fitting timing belts one tooth out of place which causes all kind of problems.

HI thanks for all the help got timing checked at other garage and they told me the set up was wrong cam timing was out they fixed it for £80 and reset lights car now running like new with no engine light on thanks for your help

Now you need to get a report from the garage that fixed it and claim costs back against the cowboys who did the job in the first place.....
