Well, my spiders have been sitting in the garage for a while now after being acid dipped and blasted, so while work is a little slow i thought id make a start on painting them!!

Ive decided to go for something a little different, and they could possibly be the only set done like this!??

Etch primered....

Then coated in Audi ice age silver....

Im really happy with how they look, and ive never seen any like this before on a skoda!

Hyper silver is clearly a very blue silver (if that makes sense)

There's a real sense of satisfaction in doing it yourself, as i found out when i blacked up my 16" spiders.

Just trying to decide what coloue to do the second set now

its not quite chrome, but a very deep shiney silver, like what some BBS/BMW wheels are finished in, also the Vauxhall astra sri penta alloys.

They look awesome, can't wait to see some pics of them on the car!

Its made by Lechler, can only be brought from a car paint supplier or from the internet. It aint cheap, i paid about £80 for 1 litre. Can also be used over a black base coat to give a shadow chrome finish. I did my vectra snowflakes in it, i had some left over so thought id do these.

Na, no rattle cans. I asked at the place where i got it, and he said only comes in a tin, minimum 1L, but ive got all the gear in my garage for spraying.

Looks good ! at least with 16's you can put a bigger tyre on with the state of the roads after this winter

Yeah, a bit orange peeley in places, but im hoping to try and polish them back and laquer again. Got some time before i get the tyres fitted.

Those look brilliant. Always good to see a proper bright silver on a wheel. Especially as so many go for anthracite/black at the moment - not saying that's wrong, but there's just something about a decent fresh silver wheel

It's why I got my Turinis done in a silver with some metallic fleck really

thanks for all the great comments. Ive spoke to my tyre fitter mate and he's getting back to me about some tyres so hopefully by next week ill have them on the car!

picked up four new pirelli PZero Nero tyres today at a great price from tyretraders in Darlaston W.mids, so tomorrow they will be fitted and on the car!!

Cant wait, will take some pics for all that are interested! Now i dont know what to do with my 17" wheels? Sell them complete or seperate wheel from tyres as the tyres are probably worth more!
