Noise when clutch pedal depressed

Featured Replies

I have a 2006 fabia vrs and it has covered 54000 miles. ive noticed that on cold start there is a huge amount of noise coming from the engine when i depress the clutch (and also a small amount of knocking). The clutch pedal also vibrates quite alot. i have gone down the route of a dual mass fly wheel. I am the second owner of this car and bought it on 36000 miles about a year ago so i very much doubt its allready had one because i am aware they are common.

I was wondering if i could have some feed back from people before i start stripping the gearbox out because auto data say its a 3 hour job.

Thanks

What's it like when you pull away? If the car judders when pulling away while riding the clutch possible friction plate. Not an expert but an old car had similar probs, with the noise when depressing the clutch makes the bearings spin will be a squealing squeaking noise, tends to be realise bearings.

it judders quite bad on idle mainly when its cold or if im sitting in traffic. I thought perhaps the release bearing was on its way out because of this noise but i have been looking through other peoples posts on the forum and it seems as if the noise when the clutch pedal is depressed is normal. Its a shame im having these problems because i love driving it and it just eats up the miles.

DMF and fit a new clutch at the same time. Parts can be had for £300 for the lot + fitting of course.

Is the noise still there after the car is up to temp ??

Just to add, increased diesel knock is NORMAL when the clutch is down (can be quite loud when engine cold)and still noticeable when engine warm.
