octavia vrs 54 plate , diagnostic wiring cut.

Featured Replies

Hi people.

had an ockky 54 plate vrs , ex police for over 2 years now. no problems , until now.

when in 3 and 4th and putting foot down , the revs zoom from 2500 - 3500 and back down again causing the car to act as though the clutch is slipping. the best way of discribing it is the engine catches up with itself , if that makes sense?

ive had the clutch checked. Nothing wrong with the clutch. the car runs fine apart from that. no other problems.

mechanic says it points to a electronical management system.

took it to a diagnostic place and discovered that the diagnostic plug has been cut. and needs rewiring up!!! :-(

any one had this problem with revs shooting up and down and more importantly had to have diagnostic plug reconnectted and wired up?

Andy.

For the wiring to the DLC, you can use the information on the Ross-Tech Aftermarket Radio Problem page. The wiring details for the DLC are given on that page.

As to the other problems, you need to post a diagnostic scan here so we can see what might be happening. You can't do that until you get the DLC fixed.
