R32 front ARB part number

Featured Replies

Has anyone got the part number for an R32 front anti roll bar. The collars have gone on my standard one so I am running smaller bushes but these are getting eaten up quite quickly. After much research I am going to replace it with the R32 one, only thing I couldn't find was a part number. Ali reckoned they were about the same price as the VRS ones about £50??

dragged this from an old thread on here from m450n.arb part no is 1JO 411 305 AF,and powerflex 23mm bushes are pff 85 411 23. i hope they are correct mate

My R32 front arb just sold on eBay for £91 B)

Thanks mate that's the correct part number

Price is £106.93 inc VAT but I would also need 2x Bushes at £6.01 each and 2x clamps at £8.02 each. So not as cheap as I was hoping :wonder:

I might just go for a whiteline adjustable one but I don't know if they come with bushes?

You can re use your old clamps  as they are same diameter as std. It is just the bush that is makes the difference up for the ARB thickness. Saves you £16

Good to know, I might just for the whiteline adjustable just trying to work out which size to go for. If I bought the R32 bar I'd want polybushes for it which I guess aren't cheap?

there are 2 types of r32 arb 21mm and a 23mm, i run a 23mm with superpro uprated bushes which are not expensive, bout 15 for the pair iirc. Dont forget to match your front arb to the rear, you dont want too thick a front if you only have a 22mm whiteline. I run 23/25 setup, but am shortly going to 28mm rear.

that was for the 23mm arb. I'm running a 25mm rarb, would this be enough?

yes thats a great combination, you will have no worries. Get the superpro bushes too

good to know

car is really balanced with those sizes, ask steevie wonder, his car has 400plus hp and he uses this setup and loves it and if its good enough for his car its good enough for ours

they don't do a whiteline one for the VRS so think I will be going down the R32 route, shame it won't be on before Castle Combe though.

what is the differance with the R32 roll bar then?

most octy estate's have a 23mm anti roll bar as do the golf gti turbo's too.

the r32 arb is thicker, the octavia estate does not have a 23mm front arb neither does the vrs, thats only used on the r32 and LCR, the gti also does not use with a 23mm arb either, where did you get that from?

err by measuring them with a vernier ;) . I have a 23mm bar in front of me now off a 1.6 octy estate which Ken is fitting to his tdi over the weekend.

and I fitted new bushes to a friends 2000 golf gti turbo last weekend which also had a 23mm bar and must have had from new..

food for thought maybe they are not as hard to find as folk would make out ?

you are talking mk1? if so sorry but they dont have a 23mm bar as standard, the bar tapers, you may be measuring where it widens, but the 23mm arb is not fitted to the octavia vrs or gti as standard, go look up the part numbers or ask your dealer to confirm, either way, there are plenty of us on here who have upgraded to the 23 mm arb and if it was standard we would have upgraded for nothing.

whiteline sell uprated arbs, if you look at their catalogue for mk4 arb upgrades, note the 'upgrade' bar for the mk4 golf is 22mm, not 23mm, if the upgrade is 22mm standard is not going to be 23mm as that would be a downgrade.

There is no way the octavia estate 1.6 has the same thickness front arb as the r32 and lcr golf has, it just doesnt.

ok we will measure it again with the decent vernier then (not the ALDI one lol) and i'll try and get a pic

the standard octavia does not have the mounts to fit a 23mm arb, all the 23mm arbs mount to the strut with droplinks, thats why the vrs is different to the standard range. We can fit r32 arbs without fitting issues.

Neither does the standard mk4 golf, only the anniversary has the same 'improved' setup that the vrs/lcr/tt/r32 does.

Measure at its thinnest.

nothing wrong with aldi stuff lol, you seen their airtools this week, bought a mini air grinder/cutter for 6.99

you can buy those, they are just not right for your car.

They are for with thicker arbs or those who uprate to thicker arbs like the r32/eibach/h&r setups

apparently it won't fit the VRS  I think the guy is measuring the wrong part of the ARB  If done a fair bit of research on the R32 ARB and no one has said its the same as a standard octavia.

no i dont think it will mike, i put that link up to show felicia16v, the 23mm bar cannot be the standard thickness for a standard octavia arb as the upgraded bars that aftermarket tuners sell like whiteline are 22mm (a 1mm downgrade not upgrade in that case), and that wouldnt make sense as no one would buy them then. Also why would a standard octavia have a thicker front arb than the vrs?!

The r32 front arb is def not the same as the octavia, there are thicker bars out there, but the r32 bar shares the same setup as the vrs (or vice versa) fortunatley for us so the r32 bar is the best/cheapest arb front upgrade for you.
