My water temperature warning light remains on all the time the engine is running. I have had the car looked at by my garage and they cannot find out why this is happening. I am hoping that someone on the site has experienced this problem and could offer some help.

Maurice

Fault code scan been done? If you have a warning light, there should be a fault code stored in the ECU memory. Usually temp sender sensor goosed and/or thermostat. If it's low coolant level warning, coolant expansion tank bottle sensor needs cleaned.

Is there a water temperature warning light?

I thought there was only a water level warning light...? Or is it a dual purpose one?

Probably wrong of course hahaha!

It will be the sensor in the header tank more than likely. If you can get to it it can be cleaned, or the whole tank costs about £10.

If there is a layer of oil in the header tank which causes the light to come on it's a fairly good sign that the head gasket needs doing.

Thanks for the advice on the forum. I will follow up the suggestions. Apologies to everyone for delay in answering as I haven't been on the sight for a few days and I am also slow(thick) in understanding how to use the site.

Maurice.
