sound deadening materials on vRS bonnet

Featured Replies

I have a 2010 FL vRS hatch, and when I had the bonnet up recently, I looked underneath the bonnett. Despite some cutouts, etc on the underneath of the bonnet, there is no black felt sound deadening materials - it is just bare metal.

Are all vRS's like this or has the factory left mine off??

none on mine

cant see the point really, it only deadens sound outside the vehicle.

makes no difference in the cabin

is probably just the CR, mine has it.

If you want the sound deadening sheet just go to your dealers service department and order it, when I did it was around £20 + the clips (£3-5).

The part number to ask for is for the deadening sheet (which I believe) is 1Z0 863 831 & when you order it, ask for the clips to go with it as well, it shouldn't be anymore than £30-35

It's an easy 5-10 min job to fit & well worth the time & money doing as it means in cold weather the engine tends to warm up quicker, as well as having the engine noise muffled. emoticon-0148-yes.gif
