Hi Ray,

I'm interested to see if anyone responds to this as my wife and I have ordered a vRS estate and need to know how to install the official Skoda dog guard.

I've asked the question before but no one has really responded.

I was under the impression the Skoda guard was a dealer fit item, probably DIY if you know what your doing but generally not a self fit item.

Hi,

Having looked at the parts alongside the car I can see how it is fitted but it does require parts to be fitted at rear/side of back seats. This then allows guard to be fitted unto them. What I am hoping for is somebody to tell me how the side plastic covering comes off (if it is easy) so as I can attach the parts too.

Hopefully somebody will help. The metal guard is ideal (special one for 08> estates) but I am trying to save the dealer fitting charge which as you say is nearly the same as cost of guard.

I'm going to try to get the dealer to throw in free fitting as part of our deal. I am however concerned how easy it will then be to put in and remove as I will want to fold the seats from time to time I'm sure.

From what I see - the brackets do NOT bolt/fit unto the rear seats. It is at the sides and then the top of dog guard screws unto these brackets thereby allowing for easy removal or too drop the seats. Good luck with fitting barter.
