Scottish newbie.

Featured Replies

Hello, after much lurking around the forum I've finally signed up as I am about to place an order for a Fabia vRS. I'm new to Skodas but have owned plenty of VAG stuff over the years.

I haven't seen any new vRSs on the roads in central Scotland yet, hopefully I'll be proven wrong by some members here!

I trading in my beloved Boxster S for the vRS which has surprised a few of the dealers I have visited but it is time to move on. The no VAT deal makes the vRS a serious bargain and even though I like the look of the Ibiza SC as well the value of the Fabia is hard to beat. I thought that dropping down to 180PS and four cylinders was going to seem a bit grim at first but I was quite impressed with how hard the vRS pulls. Plus the engine was very smooth (balancer shafts maybe?) especially considering how low it idles. Sounded pretty feisty too. The DSG box is a new thing to me never having driven any twin clutch system before. It's very impressive IMHO. So quick to change gear and so smooth as well.

I just need to decide on a colour now and get my order in. I was thinking of white with black roof and dark chrome wheels but the demo car looked really good in Rallye Green!

Hi and welcome aboard.

Order placed!

I had another longer test drive today with no sales man accompaniment. I put a lot of thought into the colour scheme and had narrowed it down to three potentials.

In the end I went for a Fabia vRS in white with a black roof and the dark chrome alloys. Also picked the red stiching on the seats.

Spec wise I added the Amundsen head unit, Bluetooth, heated seats (for SWMBO), storage under seats, front armrest, climate control, 3 spoke MFSW, rear leccy windows and the glasses storage compartment.

Admittedly I lost my sunnies in Tanzania last month but I'm sure I'll have a replacement pair by the time the car arrives!

Just got to be patient now and wait for news of the build week.
