how many times have you been stopped by people to chat about your car?

Featured Replies

I have never owned a car that has attracted so much attention! numerous times in petrol station "how do you find the car mate?" ect ect

I have actually just been followed into a supermarket carpark by someone wanting to chat about the car! (mini works owner) mad.

Does this include members of the law?

Owning a Caterham a few years ago, I was stopped by the Greater Manchester police in the city, simply for them to ask what engine I had in it...

You get this with motorbikes ALOT and yes... it gets tiring after a while 'How fast does it go' etc...

chap who followed me today, said it was the colour that caught his eye :) (mine is green with white wheels)

All the time!

"they've come on a bit haven't they?"

"Its based on a Passat/A4 isn't it?"

"What do you reckon to it?"

"Ooh its just like a Golf inside!"

etc etc

Absolutely loads. I've never owned a car that's attracted so much attention from people in the petrol station to the local drunk!

My old Fabia vRS used to attract a lot of attention on day 1 of owning the car car.... Taking SWMBO home, pulled into where she was staying after passing a police check point, two minutes later a copper walks in "is this your Car?, not showing on the database" had to explain I just bought the car that day, a few months later the railway police wanted a look in it for bombs... Who would carry bombs in a yellow car!

I have had a few comments from people I've given a lift to. The conversation usually goes something like this:

"This feels quite punchy, what engine's it got?"

"A 1.2"

"No f***ing way!"

I have had to open the bonnet and point out the turbo once.

i have had alot of positive comments. and get alot of looks from people.

bets one yet is my mate who has a BMW 323d MSport. let him have a spin, and said **** me thats quicker than the BMW.

I found people are interested in the MK2 vRS, but above all the cars it seems to be the Yeti that people keep asking questions about whenever you park one people seems to appear and the question always seem to go 'is it really that good?'.

This is true, our Yeti does attract a lot of attention due to the publicity it's had. We are always having people ask about it. A lot of the attention is from people that are not so into cars and want to know about the build quality, practicality etc... like families and old folks.

Deffinately gets a lot more attention than my Fabia.

Had a bloke in an M5 admiring the vRS last week and today was getting a few appreciative looks from a chap in a new focus RS.... B)
