zennons

Just a quick query, how come Zennon headlights are such an expensive option, the bulbs aren't that dear, whats the difference betwwen an ordinary headlamp and one that takes zennon bulbs, am I being thick? :ashamed:

Zenon filled regular bulbs aren't that expensive, but proper xenon elements are.

Then add in all the self levelling stuff and it gets rather pricey. Replacement xenon "bulbs" for vauxhalls are around

Yep, xenon bulbs are about

By the sound of it then I hope the bulbs in the L & K don,t go pop at that price, had seen adverts for bulbs for a tenner which prompted my post, must be the dodgy blue tint jobs then.

The bulbs do last alot longer than halogen bulbs and are intended to last the life of the vehicle, though I very much doubt that is ever the case. ;)

Yep, that'll be them

I sure will be monitoring voltages in the car, as a battery-charging circuit problem could cause blown 'bulbs' :(

IMO, It depends upon how much you "need" them. I personally find that my bulbs Phillips Blue vision for dipped and H3 Rallye off Road beams on full beam work a treat (obviously only on my private road), and are brighter than Xenons, yes I am sure you dont have the look which xenons give, but for

One question for those who specify Xenons as a factory fit option, do you still have to turn the lights onto dipped then full or does it have a light sensor to automatically activate the lights like on most Xenon equipped cars?

You do have to turn them on manually. ;)

Over the last couple of weeks I've been driving an Octy and a Superb, both with standard halogens, and missed the xenons very much on roads without streetlights. Believe me, I didn't buy them for the look - if I was the sort of chav who'd pay
Like I said, IMO. I knew other people would have a difference of opinion, it's one of those "each to their own" kind of things.

True - best bet for anybody wanting to see the difference would probably be to come to a meet and see people's cars with both fitted and make their own minds up as to whether it's worth the money - each to their own as you said... I know a lot of people don't like sunroofs either but I do :D
