how do you take the front seats out

Featured Replies

help? :(

Disconnect battery (so the airbags are safe)

remove the little plastic bungs out of the plastic covers going over the runners (from the rear footwells)

lift the covers off, slide the seat back and remove the two 13mm nuts in the centre of the seat (in the front footwells)

push the seat back 20mm out of the mounting bracket,

unplug all of the plugs going to the seat

lift out (out of the rear door is easiest for the drivers seat)

BTW they are heavy!!

Re-fitting is the reversal - making sure the battery is connected last of all.

If you turn the ignition on with the seats removed you WILL put the airbag light on the dash and you will need VCDS or a dealer to turn the light off again!

Pilfered pictures or not, it is a very clear description of the problems!

Nice collection of pilfered photo's there :dull:.

I wonder if the 'author' actually did any of it - or just copied everyone else's work???

Of course their not mine photos. If you do a little research, then you would find the original author of it. Just this page was a big help to me, when I needed to remove my seats.
