Cruise control Fab vrs

Featured Replies

Wanting to get cruise control fitted in my car. Been told by awesome they are only able to fit it on certain cars. Is there anyway to tell without going to them and has anyone had this done?

It can be retro fitted into a Fabia yes. I'd recommend shark performance.

Does anyone know of any garages in north Yorkshire that does it?

I had it done on my 07 Fabia by a dealer but Ross Clarke also does it. Think it was under 200 quid.

Am also wanting this doing but havent found anywhere local from net. My mate at vw said they would code it but not sure if code exactly same because they only got vw programming. I would have thought they all same as its vag.

Main dealer will only charge circa 200-250 quid.

Problem solved. You must be near a stealer.

Even at that price its a great value modification.

I use mine often, especially in average speed traps/ roadworks etc.

Wouldnt bet 200 - 250 from a main dealer, looking at 2+ hours labour plus the kit.

Another example of how the over inflated prices at the main dealer drive custom elsewhere then.

I stand corrected.

Overinflated? Maybe, but they do have to pay the likes of me ;)

got it fitted at derek slacks in middlesbrough .i think it waz about £240 all in

 would,nt be with out it. its saved me afew pionts

Blimey I paid £70 total for mine, I did fit it myself though, and my Indy mechanic charged my £10 to enable it.

Im worried it won't be possible on mine. Don't suppose anyone knows of a way to check without plugging into a vagcom?

It's only really early ones that can't. There's a way to check but I'm on my phone at moment so it's a pain to find the link

I can just about make out yours is a 54plate? You'll be fine if it is, my mate has it fitted and his is a 54 plate

Yeah it's a 54 plate mate. Going to buy the stem myself and get local garage to fit. Said it would only take 2 hours max!

What about the wiring loom?

Also the earlier ones are fine, it's later Fabias and normally 1.4 PD that change to a 6Q2 central electrics ecu.

Is there a separate loom to buy it will it come with the stem?

There isn't a loom that comes with a stalk no unless you buy a cruise control kit or make the wiring, then it needs to be programmed.

So my 53 plate will be good for it?

Can you advise of anywhere to get the loom apart from skoda?

More than likely yes, I did my 53 plate way before the kit was available, think it was one of the first if not the first to be done.

You cant buy the loom on it's own only as part of the kit which is about £60 give or take.
