vibration when brakeing

Featured Replies

as above. im getting a low pitch vibraion from the front end when braking.

i thought it might be the exhaust vibrating aginst the fire wall but it now seems futher forward than that,

any ideas anyone

Discs seem to be bent

if the discs are bent then it can go back to the main dealer as it still has a main dearler warenty on it

warped discs. as for going back to the dealer good luck on trying to get a warranty them, they are wear and tear items.

On a more optimistic note the discs might just have rusted - if that is the case the vibration will go away after a period of use.

I had this on old vRS models - warped discs but on the REAR not the front. It transpired that giving it the beans and warming the discs up then parking up and applying the handbrake caused uneven cooling and hence warping. I always got mine replaced under warranty! Good Luck.

Good tip there. Certainly I was told not to use the handbrake after going full beans around a racetrack in a fast car. Hard for me to imagine getting into that sort of heat problem on a public road though!

Try some really hard stops followed by a cool down cruise. If its pad material build up or oxidisation that will clean them up.

If its still there after that then it could be runout (warp).
