rear ARB

Featured Replies

Did any of the Octavia range come with a rear anti roll bar as standard?

Also, how similar is the rear suspension setup to other models from VAG... Audi, VW etc ?

there is an internal arb fitted inside the rear beam.

all vag cars have this,

you can fit a rear arb from any of the vag range like leon cupra r, but not from 4x4 cars as 2wd rear suspension setup is more or les the same.

+1

All the Audi A3,Skoda Octy,Seat Leon range share the Golf MK 4 platform and thus have the same rear beam and chassis set up.

Only difference is the 4x4 variants, R32,TT Quattro, S3 with have a external RARB as well.

These are not interchangable on the none 4x4 variants, but a aftermarket RARB can be purchased

Look for Whiteline, Eibach, Neuspeed etc. under Golf MK 4 or Skoda Octy

Very good addition to handling on our cars....

Hope this helps.

If i was to buy one is it a direct fit? Or do i need to buy anything else for example bushes etc? Excuse my lack of knowledge of suspension components.

The whiteline one I recently purchased came with everything required

On a standard car you'd be better off getting a 22mm after market one, simple to fit with good results. I have an adjustable whiteline one on nine and its brilliant

I am looking at the Whiteline one too...For some reason Awesome say that it is not for the vRS?? Awesome Whiteline ARB

Your link is for a front arb??

I have 2 Whiteline RARB for sale if you are interested?

I managed to pick up the Neuspeed 28mm one so these are now no use to me, They will come with all the parts needed to fit and I will be cleaning them up and painting them Green or Black? not made up my mind yet lol.

Have a look at my For Sale thread mate under Breaking mk1 vRS.

As said the best £160 youll spend on the car.

imo the Whiteline 22mm adj is perfect to go with the std front bar. noly really need bigger rear if you put the R32 front bar on like Mark(Bowders1) myself and a few others.

So which of the VAG range has the best (standard) Rear ARB?

(...if I was looking at an upgrade for fitting onto a Mk1 Octavia? B) )

none sadly, there is no retrofit oe part that you can use.

Whiteline are cheapest of the lot, if you want to spend more then eibach/neuspeed or autotech are the way ahead.

Plus the amount of work needed to change the standard bar wouldn't really be worth it. Think you would have to remove the rear beam, while the aftermarket one is just bolt on

Hi mate,

As mentioned the one lined to our website is for the front - We dont have the rear one on there at the moment but will be on soon :D

Yeah sorry my mistake! I jumped to the conclusion that it was the rear like an idiot...

The point has been mentioned a few times, there is no std RARB from the range for your none 4x4 car :'(

Think what Oet meant in his post is:

"you can fit a aftermarket rear arb from any of the vag range like leon cupra r, if they have a aftermarket one fitted or when seraching for them in a performance centre/website

If you have a std FARB then your best option is start with the Whiteline 22mm version.

This will give you a very good handling set up.

DPM motorsport sell them at a good price.

Billy has 2 for sale and I have 1 also when I upgrade mine further(sprayed skoda VRS caliper green)
