2006 fabia vrs no start

Featured Replies

i have owned my 2006 fabia vrs for around 2 years. yesterday i pulled off and got a beeping and red flashing oil light. drove home which is under 1 mile.

Checked the oil which was around the minimum, topped it up. now it wont even try and turn over, lights come on but apart from that wont try and start, bumped it and it started straight away, left it idling for 2 mins and the oil light flashes and beeps a few times so hav nt drove it.

Really stuck as garage want me to drop it off tomoz , its about 2 mils to garage.

Dont want no stupid garage bills so any ideas please.

Service spanner was on before this happened for about 5000 miles.

Thanks.

Its overdue a service and almost run out of oil...

Not a good start to keeping a motor well looked after.

5000miles with the service light on... ouch. Its really important to keep the oil changed (and topped up) on these PD engines.

I really hope you've not caused any lasting damage to the engine, best bet would be to VAGCOM it.

neither gona effect it starting..

if it bumps but aint turning over sounds like battery/starter motor prob..

If you suspect the engine may have been damaged, an easy and reliable way to find out is take out and open up the paper engine oil filter element.

Look between the "outer" folds in the paper element, checking for metallic particals/debris.

If you dont find any then your main engine components should be OK...the turbo is a different matter though.

Turbo's dont like being starved of oil even for short periods of time !!!

Hope all goes well.

Bill.

Try to turn engine manually, if ok check circuit breakers, battery and starter motor, voltage and start signal to starter. If You will get engine turning replace oil and filter immediately and after than You have to check actual oil pressure.
