Forge FMIC

Featured Replies

Hello All,

Ill be looking at getting a forge front mount at the end of the summer.

Although when looking for places to buy one, Awesome-gti's website says that it is not suitable for vehicles with headlight washers!

Is this really the case? If so, does that mean I cant have the FMIC, just because of my washers?

The forge website doesnt mention this at all either!

Anyone come across this or have any thoughts/opinions or solutions?

Thanks

have seen an octy with headlight washers and a forge front mount.

Cheapest to buy from forge, ask them for a club members deal

Do not go to Awesome or other tuners get direct from Forge

PM the Forge site on here and ask for best deal. I did and believe me you will be suprised.

Mmm thats strange because mine has headlamp washers and was supplied and fitted by Awesome....

The Forge IC doesn't come anywhere near the washer jets.

I suspect what they might have been trying to say, is that the forge may not fit under the standard Octavia bumper (non-vrs, which came with washer jets more often than the vrs)

Mine had a standard bumper when I got it so can't be that. When I swapped the bumper there were no mods to the std bumper other than 2 big cracks where it had grounded (hence the swap). I had to cut the rear out the O/S grill to clear the IC pipe on the VRS item though.

+1 for buying directly from Forge.

I fitted mine on Friday, you wont be dissapointed.

No idea then why they would mention washers ....

Thinking about it , washers were fitted to Xenon equipped cars and the Xenons are deeper so may foul something. Think I read this on Rob Clubleys site.... The 4x4 was Elegance spec so didn't have Xenons but had washers.

Yes the Xenons are deeper and the washer bottle is bigger for t headlight washers meaning it's rather tight inbetween.

This might be why?

What's the advantage of fmic to the standard one?

Is it really worth the money?

Looks better :giggle:

should have appended my last post "Rob will be along in a second"

What's the advantage of fmic to the standard one?

Basically, more cooling.

Required in order to sustain bigger power output for longer, particully if you've uprated your turbo.

Its not the washer bottle. My 4x4 has the larger washer bottle, and intercooler pipes doesn't go near it. Doesn't go near the lights either.

Think its just a piece of mis-information tbh.

My car has the headlight washers, and I took a look around to see if there was anything obvious that would make fitting a FMIC impossible/difficult, coudlnt see anything that would be a problem, but just thought Id ask peeps in the know to be sure.

Thanks all! Ill contact Forge and see how I get on.

Just so everyone knows if you get a lower price from Forge let me know I will see what can be done to better it ;)
