OCTAVIA 1.9 TDI DIESEL DSG AUTO

Featured Replies

I have an Octavia 1.9 TDI diesel DSG from new in 06 with under 25000 on the clock. I have been having a starting problem where the tyre pressure sensor light and the ECU light stay on, all the gear position lights flash and the car will not start. I have to remove the key from the ignition and try again and eventually after 2 – 8 attempts it starts. The car is now with the main dealer and I have spent £300+ on diagnostics and they say that they are unable to find the problem and also Skoda UK Technical Dept have never heard of it before.

ANY HELP AND SUGGESTIONS ON WHERE TO GO FROM HERE APPRECIATED?

Are you sure it's the TPS light and not the DSG temp light?

Do you get false neutrals?

Has the gearshift become jerky?

The two most common causes of the flashing DSG lights are

1. Power problems - bad battery, bad connections, etc

2. Faulty DSG temp sensor.

Ask the dealer if there are any software updates for your car.
