lowered car, problems?

Featured Replies

hello all,

got my car lowered about 1 month ago by a garage i gave them all the parts to do the job!!! and yesterday on the way home from work the front on the car o/s was nearly on the floor!! i pulled over as the bumper was rubbing the road!!! looked under the o/s front and the suspension leg had dropped down nearly on the cv joint, bloody grease was everywhere!! :'( i had to drive at 20mph for 20miles.went straight to the garage where i got it lowered, dint have a car for a day as they was late with it. but the thing is that they said to me with it having it lowered the car has to work differently...it had over £30 of parts a little welding 3hrs then they ******* charged me for the work!! wasnt happy at all as they was the last people to work on the car!! but i think it was poor workmanship!!!

if your getting your car done,i would highly recommend putting new bolts in.

cheers Ant

what went on it?

I despair to think about all these badly modified and UNSAFE cars on the road. Trying to think how a suspension leg can 'drop down'. Nope, can't figure that one out. If welding work was needed on the suspension I would be more than a little worried. I would take it to an MOT center and have it checked over.

Suspension should never be welded, failed parts should be replaced. I'd be very concerned if welding was done to key suspension parts.
