Well after ordering in December and nearly canceling twice because of doubts it would get built I picked up my CR DSG VRS hatch today. Candy White with a few toys, Xenons, Bluetooth, auto lights/wipers and a spare wheel.

Only driven it a few miles so far but so glad I stuck with it. Entirely different to my previous car - A Chrysler 300C - but a lot more involving to drive.

I'll post a pic or two at the weekend when I've taken some and 'shopped out the reg.

Only concern is it has Dunlop tyres but hopefully the alignment is OK. My iPhone 3GS hooked straight up with the Bolero no problem too. Shame the centre console 12v outlet isn't switched, but I'll do the mod to take a feed off the fusebox for my iPhone TomTom cradle later.

Fancy a white grille surround and anthracite wheels to finish it off nicely, and then a honeycomb grille, maybe eibachs and then maybe a remap.

NO!!! STOP ME now. Promised SWMBO I'd leave this one alone!

Can't beat the feeling of driving a brand new car!!

First proper drive in the vRS today to work. Trying to figure out how things work - but unfortunately continually distracted by a rattle from the passenger side. Sounded like something in the front door pocket but nothing there. Checked glovebox, underseat storage, seatbelt and all OK. Looked on here for ideas but only found reference to squeaks. This is a definite rattle when riding over bumps. Will investigate passenger dash area later as this seems to be an area for this.

Any other ideas?

Are you sure its not the seatbelt, that is a common one, but otherwise would be very strange, mine doesn't rattle at all.

Plugged the seatbelt in and rattle was still there. From driver's seat it sounds like coming from the front passenger door bin. Hoped it was the under seat storage bin, but that seems OK.

Open the glove box and then hold down on the GB door slightly if the noise disappears then it's a dash problem. I've had the glove box repositioned, then they removed it but the noise just got louder then they had the dash out which sorted the problem out for about a month but now it's back.....the annoying think is it sounds like it's coming from the door but it's not.

This time round my current VRS is the worse one I've had for rattles etc, think they are building them to quickly trying to play catch up.

I have an annoying little squeak in my 56 vRS.

However as it will be traded-in within the next 3-4 weeks I'm not that bothered, I'll live with it.

What I can say is that if my new vRS squeaks or rattles in any way it will keep on going back until it doesn't.

Certainly not paying all that money for a car with an unwanted rattle.

Oh dear, I hope you don't suffer the same fate as most that came with Dunlops !!!

Found the rattle!!

It was my sunglasses. Definitely sounded like passenger door until I leaned over to try pulling on the door handle. The noise then was in the middle. Took my sunglasses out of the overhead console - noise stopped.

In love with the vRS again. Played with the DSG on the way home, great fun.

Next job is a visit back to the dealer to have the alarm chirp turned off unless somebody knows if it is in Maxidot - I couldn't find it.

Congrats on your new car. I am so jealous! I ordered mine in November with some extras, Columbus, Rain Sensor, PDC front and rear, Curtain airbags and spare wheel. Currently on week 20 build! (Unconfirmed)

Has got full leather upgrade, reverse sensors, heated seats and space saver wheel so had to buy it and no wait saw it Tuesday picked it up today.

I looked for an ex-demo in White or Blue but missed out on one in Liverpool and the few that came out of Skoda fleet had 10K on them!

So pleased I went for the white even though it suddenly seems very popular and I know as soon as it rains I'll be cleaning it.
