Hit by a bus this morning

Sorry to hear that :(

Why not give the dealer a call and ask what bodyshop(s) they usually use ? Will you be claiming on your insurance for the repair ?

Hopefully it's just the car that got dented - I take it you escaped in one piece?

I would suggest claiming on the bus-company's insurance personally ;)

I am thinking about claiming, but need to find out whether it will affect my dads no claims (I'm insured under him). I think its protected, but I should make sure. Should really get a quote first and see whether its worth the pain of getting the insurers involved.

Yeah, we both escaped thanks Steve. It was a pretty low-speed thing thankfully.

Sorry to hear that Hussein. Hope it gets sorted soon.

If it wasn't your fault it should be fine to claim. If it WAS your fault, then you want to be a little more cautious ;)

did the police come out just out of interest? I only ask because I thought that any bus that had an accident had to have the police there. Maybe it's only if it's a big one?

Anyway London bus drivers are not the best in the world  what operator was it.............lets hope it wasn't armchair

The bus was actually 'out of service', so there wasn't anyone on it. I think it was one heading for a tube station to be a rail replacement.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't my fault, but of course the bus driver waving his arms around in the air thinks otherwise. Traffic on the right was stopped at some lights, there was a parked car on the left, which I had stopped behind. Indicated and sat there while the lights went green, nice big gap in front of the bus, off I go... *crunch*.

There was no real excuse for him not to slow down, unless he didn't see me, even with my super beacon skoda indicators. He hit me by the rear wheel which shows how far I had already pulled out into his lane. Its not like he was going that fast either...

Looking at it all objectively, you could say we were both as impatient as each other; though I still blame him for the bump.

Anyway. The lovely people at Willis Motor Company in Northolt are going to have a look at it tomorrow, so I'll post a damage report and a pic of the carnage then.

Argh, didn't have time to go there this morning - guess it'd have to be some other time.
