Switch off auto open windows - VAG

Featured Replies

Could anyone advise how we turn OFF the auto open windows function - whilst holding the unlock button on the remote for a few seconds? I have VAG COM and ideally would like some instructions how to turn the function off as its for my dads car. The function is frustrating my dad as it opens randomly! :wonder:

No it doesn't unfortunately. Do you know how to switch on / off the function on VAG COM?

Only on an FL.

Pretty sure I've seen it in VCDS before. Will have a look at mine next time I connect.

Look in the central convenience module, go through the long coding byte-by-byte, and VCDS will tell you what does what. Look for 'comfort opening by remote' or similar. Make a note of your original coding first.

I had a look tonight as I was connected anyway.

Goto Module 46- Central Convenience

Long Coding Helper

Byte 4

Untick Bit 2 and Bit 5

NOTE: as said, always take a note of the final long coding BEFORE you start. You can just copy the code in yellow, listed in section 1 on the screenshot above and pop it into Notepad. I save them as I go along, as it can be handy to see what something was previously and is helpful to have a reference to refer to, if necessary.

No, you need VCDS and a cable:

What you linked to just allows you to read and clear error codes. That's just part of what VCDS is able to do.
