Rear Parking Audio Warning Not Working

Featured Replies

HI Folks,

This one isn't a problem for me.. I'm company car driver and a few of us have just taken delivery of new Octavia Elegance 1.9 TDI's, and one of my co-workers has this problem.

When he puts the car into reverse, he gets a 'beep' and the rear sensor image appears on the screen, but as he backs up, he doesn't get the increasing audible 'beep' as he gets closer. Looking at his screen he also has a small icon in the bottom right of the screen that I don't have that looks a little bit like a speaker.

Checked on the set up screen and he does have 'audio feedback ' switched on..

...anyone any thoughts?

Cheers

Andy

In the Radio Settings there should be a PCD button so you can adjust the volume.

Hi Folks, I own a 55 Octy 11 L&K 2.0 diesel. I've just replaced the parking sensor module after the rear screen wash hose came apart and wrecked the module. The symbol shows on the radio screen, and the volume is very very low.The radio volume does not decrease when reverse is selected. On the radio settings there is only a PDC on or off selection. Question for all who had this problem how do you adjust the volume? There is no PDC volume button.

Hi Mike, you seem a fountain of knowledge about these things. I have a factory fit Columbus in my car. At the moment when I engage reverse I have to turn the volume down manually in order to hear the reversing beeps. Is there anything I can have changed via VCDS so the car will turn the columbus volume down automatically. I don't have the picture come up in the display but I think to change that I will have to get a new PDC module.

Thanks,

Ian

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the info. Is it normal with parking sensor modules to set up the sound output after replacement? I would have thought they were plug and play? When I replaced the module, 2 of the pins in the old unit had broken off due to corrosion. I've since replaced the connectors after searching online and finding out the part number through tyco electronics. But wonder if I put them back in the right slot. I think they were as they were only removed one at a time and checked against the old unit for position. Is there anyone in the Norwich area who has a VCDS and would be kind enough to help reset the volume?

kind regards, Keith

Hi Mike,

I now have a VCDS as there was no-one nearby who could help. Can you update me on how to adjust the volume. It says that the audio is suppressed.

Kind regards,

Keith

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll try it when I get back home after work.

Kind regards,

Keith

Hi, I hope you can help me.

I've had the same issue and now have to replace the parking sensor module. I just can't find the part number for the module anywhere. Do you still have it and could you email it to me please?

Thanks for your time,
